hearthealth

This week, DelmarvaLife is focusing on matters of the heart, leading up to Valentine’s Day. Our heart does so much for us – think of it as the pump that keeps your body going. Unfortunately, many people just don’t take care of their heart like they should, which is why the Centers for Disease Control and Prevention reports heart disease is the number one killer of both men and women.

Dr. Steven Hearne, Co-Director of the Guerrieri Heart & Vascular Institute at PRMC, tells us about heart disease and how it differs between men and women. Dr. Hearne also talks about cholesterol and blood pressure.

Reduce your risk of heart disease:

  • Don’t smoke
  • Eat less
  • Eat healthier
  • Exercise
