Tuesday on DelmarvaLife, we learned how to stay safe when swimming. According to the Centers for Disease Control and Prevention, about ten people die everyday from unintentional drowning. There’s also something called “dry drowning,” which is when a person drowns hours after leaving the water. One of the main ways to prevent drowning is to teach your children how to swim.
The YMCA of the Chesapeake offers several swimming classes. For more information on the classes, visit the YMCA’s website: http://www.ymcachesapeake.org/.
