Sometimes you can never truly understand a situation until you are right in the middle of it.
That’s certainly the case when a family is dealing with a critically ill child. The trips to the doctor, the treatments at home, all while trying to have some semblance of a normal family life. Mandy Herbert and her daughter Josie of Delmar join us on the show today to share their story. Josie was diagnosed with cancer in March 2017. She went through 33 weeks of treatment and as of December 2017, Josie has no evidence of disease.
During this journey Josie spent a lot of time at A.I. duPont Hospital and now she wants to help other children. The Blood and Pajama Drive is Sept. 3 from 9 am – 1 pm at Cross Pointe Church of the Nazarene. The blood drive is through the Blood Bank of Delmarva and they are also asking for donations of new pairs of pajamas for the boys and girls fighting cancer at A.I. duPont Hospital for Children.
Josie and her sister, Aliza, also show Corey how to make a bead craft, “beads of courage.”
