Caroline Farrell is a clinical exercise physiologist with PRMC and she tells us all about cardiac rehab and how it helps strengthen your heart.
Caroline says cardiac rehab is almost like a medically monitored gym. They help you design your exercise plan and then take your heart rate and blood pressure while you are working out and when you stop working out to make sure you are not overdoing, or under-doing it.
Different Phases of Cardiac Rehab:
- Phase 1: Inpatient
- Phase II: ECG Monitored Outpatient Exercise Program, offered at PRMC only
- Phase III: Exercise Maintenance Program, Offered at PRMC & Ocean Pines
- Phase IV: Adult Fitness, Offered at PRMC & Ocean Pines
