MILFORD, Del.- The Concert Recital Room at The Music School of Delaware’s Milford location will be dedicated from 4-5:30 p.m. Thursday, Feb. 8 in honor of its founders Linda Breedlove and Rachel Grier-Reynolds.
Breedlove and Grier-Reynolds founded the school in 1981, now located at 10 S. Walnut St. The idea was to create a place where children, including their own, could come together and learn the art of music.
The school focuses in the ways of the Suzuki Academy, which is the art of teaching children the language of music from a young age. Classes are offered throughout the week for both individual or group lessons, as well as a broad range of instruments including the guitar, violin, and woodwinds.
The Music School of Delaware Milford has been serving the community for more than three decades and the amount these ladies have done has not gone unnoticed.
Long time friend, Ilona Holland, praised the ladies saying, “They recognized the need and pulled together the people to give something the community never had. For the energy, enthusiasm, visions, and dedication to making this a reality, we are deeply grateful.”
Holland said her own son was one of the school’s early students.
Thursday’s ceremony will include a performance from students of the school, as well as a reception afterward. Please come out and share your appreciation for what Linda Breedlove and Rachel Grier-Reynolds have given to the area and the music community.
