The number of children actively riding bicycles decreased 20% between 2000 and 2010. Harrison Barnes of Bridgeville wants to change that. He started a program called Gear Up to help get kids on bikes by taking donated bikes and refurbishing them for kids who cannot buy them.

The official dedication and ribbon cutting for the Harriet Tubman mural in Cambridge is September 7th. The mural dedication is part of a day of events entitled “A Day of Resilience: Return, Reconcile, Reunite, Rejoice. Commemorating the 400th Anniversary of Slavery in America,” being organized by Alpha Genesis and Dorchester Center for the Arts. Alpha Genesis CDC President, Adrian Holmes; and the Executive Director of the Dorchester Center for the Arts, Barb Seese join us to talk about the event, including special guests from Africa.
