Today on DelmarvaLife:
Just how stressed out are our kids? Recent studies suggest a lot – and we may not recognize the symptoms. Dr. Suni Jani, of Community Behavioral Health, is here to address the stress our kids may be suffering in silence.
102.5 WBOC’s Corey Phoebus has found a way to float his stress away. It’s called salt therapy. He stops by Ocean Elements Salt Spa and Float Center of Delmarva in West Ocean City to learn the science behind this ancient technique to relax.
One life lesson best taught early is perseverance. Founder and Executive Director of Pathways to Success, Fay Blake, learned that lesson growing up, and it inspired her to give back to her community, one life at a time. Now, she and her team are working to help kids, adults, and their families, find success. Fay and Outreach Coordinator, Sarah Gilmour, tell us more about Pathways, and how you can help support the cause.
A couple of weeks ago, we welcomed Kirsten Cerbone to Historic Studio D, to hear about her bicycle ride from Baltimore to San Diego, all in an effort to raise awareness of cancer. Selbyville’s Rick Erline says that interview set a fire inside of him, and inspired him to join Kirsten on her next adventure – a ride from Baltimore to Key West, Florida. The ride will hold a special place in Rick’s heart, as he recently lost his 24-year-old daughter, Grace, to cancer. Rick says grief is like a cinder block that weighs down the person who is impacted by the pain. He says he’s looking forward to this “positive” trip. You can help Rick on his mission to honor Grace, by clicking here.
We are just days away from Pinocchio the Andean Bear’s big debut at The Salisbury Zoo. Today, we take a look back at Pinocchio’s journey to Delmarva, all thanks to our friends at the Hertrich Family of Automobile Dealerships. WBOC’s Bill Mich and Chris Weimer stop by Historic Studio D to talk about their trip to Ecuador and what it took to get Pinocchio to Delmarva. They’ll also tell us which one of them was brave enough to taste some of the local cuisine: guinea pig. You can see more of their adventure, “Pinocchio’s Journey to Delmarva,” tomorrow at 7:30 p.m. on WBOC.
