Today on DelmarvaLife:
Sue Billet of Bethany Beach is battling a life-threatening disease. She was recently diagnosed with stage four lung cancer. Sue’s co-workers from The Cottage Cafe and the entire Delmarva community are rallying behind Sue. Co-owner of The Cottage Cafe, Brent Poffenberger, joins us in the studio to share Sue’s story and tell us about “Soups for Sue.” The Cottage Cafe is donating $1 from every soup sold and they are having a “Souper Sunday” event on April 23 from 2 pm-5 pm. There will be a $10 donation at the door for the “Souper Sunday” event.

Life comes with its share of obstacles. There are people on Delmarva who make it their mission to help others overcome obstacles. Dr. Bill Northey, the chief of clinical innovation at Connections Community Support Programs, joins us on the couches to talk about how Connections is helping many people get over those obstacles. Connections is a Delaware-based not for profit drug, alcohol and mental health counseling center. They also have marriage and family therapists who are specifically trained to work with family systems. Most recently, due to the addiction epidemic, Connections has expanded its services. No matter what the issue, the most important step to heal is by simply reaching out for help. For more information, go here.
