boat-parade

Get ready to see something spectacular this weekend!

It’s the Wicomico Yacht Club’s 30th Annual Christmas Boat Parade. It’s a gorgeous event that benefits Toys for Tots, and it’s a bit more meaningful this year, after a fire at the Yacht Club last December destroyed the building. Even after the challenges that can come with rebuilding such a structure, the mission to give back to children on Delmarva continues. 102.5 WBOC’s Corey Phoebus explains.

Scott McCurdy with the Wicomico Yacht Club said he’s been to every single boat parade except one. He believes that despite the club fire last year, he thinks that the toy drive will exceed last year.

“My favorite part is just the fun you see people having along the river,” Scott says. “All the families and young children downtown when we arrive and it’s become a holiday tradition for a lot of people.”

Anyone that has a boat and would like to participate, call Scott at 410-430-2282 or Bill Riley at 410-726-7744
