DOVER, Del. (AP) - Officials in Delaware are urging people to avoid driving as icy conditions develop across the state.
The Delaware Department of Transportation says icy conditions are expected to start developing around 1 p.m. Sunday.
Officials say some portions of Delaware could receive as much as one third of an inch of ice and that the heaviest accumulation of snow and ice is expected in New Castle County.
Officials say motorists should avoid driving and if they need to be on the roads they should be especially cautious on ramps, bridges and overpasses. The Delaware Department of Transportation says it will be bringing in additional staff throughout the day to treat the roads with salt and to plow as necessary.
