OCEAN CITY, Md.- Ocean City police say they have located the body of a 23-year-old Mongtomery County, Maryland man reported as missing.
Police said late Monday afternoon that after a detailed search, the body of Cesar Alcides Martinez Saravia was located just south of 67th Street in a bayside canal and was recovered by the Ocean City Fire Department Dive Team.
Martinez Saravia was reported missing to police the morning of Sunday, June 3 by his friends. He was last seen in the area of 62nd Street in Ocean City on Saturday, June 2 at approximately 7 p.m. Officers immediately initiated a search with assistance from the Maryland Natural Resources Police. Through investigation and video surveillance, detectives were led to the location of his body Monday afternoon.
Martinez Saravia’s body has been sent to the Office of the Chief Medical Examiner of Maryland for autopsy where the cause and manner of death will be determined.
There were no obvious signs of injury and no foul play is suspected at this time, according to police. The investigation is ongoing.
Police said Cesar Martinez Saravia of Montgomery County, Maryland, was last seen in the area of 49th Street in Ocean City at around 7 p.m. Saturday, June 2. He was wearing a blue T-shirt, pink shorts, black Jordan flip flops with white socks, and aviator sunglasses.
Saravia is further described as 5-foot-7, 158 pounds, with brown eyes and brown hair. Has a 3-inch scar on his left forearm.
Social media outlets may have placed him in the area between 28th and 30th streets in Ocean City at approximately 8:30 p.m. Saturday, according to police.
