CINCINNATI (AP)- A younger brother of U.S. House Speaker John Boehner (BAY'-ner) has died in Ohio. Richard Boehner was 60.
The Hodapp Funeral Home says Boehner died Saturday of natural causes.
A spokeswoman for John Boehner said Tuesday in an email that he is saddened by the loss of his brother, who was cherished and loved by many. Spokeswoman Olivia Hnat (nat) says the speaker from West Chester appreciates the prayers for his family.
Richard Boehner is survived by his wife, Sharon Boehner, two stepchildren and six grandchildren. He also leaves behind eight brothers and three sisters.
Visitation will be from 11 a.m. to 1 p.m. Wednesday, followed by the funeral service at Hodapp Funeral Home in the Cincinnati suburb of Liberty Township.
