Andy Ellis
Andy Ellis is a Baltimore resident with a background in education, technology and political organizing. Ellis attended Towson University and St. Mary's College of Maryland before working as a debate coach and educator.
He helped establish the Baltimore Urban Debate League's middle school program in 2005 and coached Towson University's debate team to a national championship in 2008. He later spent nearly 15 years working in the corporate technology sector.
Ellis has been involved in grassroots political organizing and efforts to expand voter participation, according to his campaign site. He has worked to develop the Green Party in Maryland, advocated for ballot access reforms and served on Baltimore City's Charter Review Commission from 2023 to 2024. He also chaired Baltimore for Democracy.
Ellis' campaign focuses on election reform, economic inequality and environmental concerns. He advocates for reducing the influence of the two major political parties, expanding opportunities for independent and third-party voters and increasing public participation in government decisions. His platform also emphasizes creating a more equitable economy, distributing public resources more broadly and opposing data center development in Maryland.
Ellis lives in northeast Baltimore with his wife.
