A Dorchester County native, Lewis spent six years in the US Army Reserves and is a 30 Life member of the Linkwood-Salem VFD. He spent spent over 33 years as a Cambridge Police Officer, with his last five years as Chief of Police. He retired from Cambridge PD in 2022.
