SNOW HILL, Md. - Worcester County Fair organizers have released details about what to expect in August.
The fair will return to John Walter Smith Park in Snow Hill for three days, Aug. 7-9. Fair hours are Friday from 4-8 p.m., Saturday from 10 a.m. - 8 p.m., and Sunday from 10 a.m. - 3 p.m. Admission is free.
"We're thrilled to welcome the community back to the Worcester County Fair for the third consecutive year," said Worcester County Recreation & Parks Special Events Manager Kyle Jarmon. "The fair celebrates Worcester County's rich agricultural heritage while creating new traditions through entertainment, friendly competition, and family experiences."
Organizers say this year's fair will feature livestock exhibits, 4-H cooking, robot and drone demonstrations, live music, contests, and more. Guests can test their skills in the Farmer Olympics, Pipeline Eating Contest, Turkey Calling Competition, and cornhole tournament. There will also be Catfish Races, cake auction, Wheels That Heal Car Show, Ocean City Jeep Club Show, local food, beverages, and interactive exhibits.
The entertainment lineup features the Leo Brooks Band, Ashley Wineland, Earth Jam, Free State Country Band, OCMD Boogiemen, and more performing all weekend long. All concerts are free.
The Worcester County Catfish Races return Friday and Saturday, with a $5 entry fee and a $500 cash prize awarded for the fastest fish.
The Kids Zone will feature face painting, the Fish-On Fishing Tank, inflatable bounce houses, a straw maze, and free carnival games. Saturday competitions will include watermelon eating, pie eating, greasy watermelon races, sack races, three-legged races, and donut-on-a-string challenges.
More than 5-0 vendors will offer handcrafted goods, local services, food trucks, specialty foods, and adult beverages.
There will also be indoor exhibits at the Worcester County Recreation Center, featuring entries from local residents.
