DAGSBORO, Del. — The new Business and Economic Development committee in Dagsboro is working to find practical ways to support local businesses and improve the town while preserving the small-town character residents know and love.
Dagsboro Mayor Jason Russell said in an email to WBOC, the overall purpose of the committee is to develop ideas and recommendations that support current and future businesses while also improving and beautifying the town.
The committee is made up of volunteers from different businesses and professional backgrounds.
Paul Parsons, owner of Parsons Farm, said he believes the committee is a step in the right direction.
“Definitely, hopefully we can come up with some good ideas with the local business owners to create a better environment for businesses in Dagsboro,” Parsons said.
Russell said the committee is not focused on large-scale development or creating more traffic.
Committee members are also encouraging residents to attend Town Council and committee meetings to share their ideas and stay involved.
The committee is still in the early stages of developing ideas, but members said they hope their work will lead to practical improvements for both local businesses and the community.
