SALISBURY, MD.- Ground was broken on Thursday for a new building at the Salisbury Airport.
Construction will be done to build a “Snow Removal Equipment and Aircraft Fire Fighting and Rescue Facility.” It will store their emergency and maintenance equipment.
Airport officials say their current facility is rundown and dilapidated.
Airport Director, Tony Rudy, says this building will also be beneficial to their employees.
“It’s a proper place to house our employees so they can do the work that’s not on the airfield, get them out of the elements and just have a clean and adequate facility to conduct their work and do training,” said Rudy.
Work on the new facility is expected to wrap up at the end of next year.
