HARRINGTON, Del. - A Harrington man was sentenced Tuesday to 10 years in federal prison after pleading guilty to possessing child sexual abuse material, according to court documents obtained by WBOC.
Todd Fisher, 34, received the 120-month sentence in U.S. District Court for the District of Delaware on June 30. The sentence matched the recommendation made by federal prosecutors under the terms of Fisher's plea agreement.
According to court documents, the case originated with an FBI investigation that linked Fisher to an online messaging account used to request, receive, and exchange child sexual abuse material. Fisher later admitted to possessing the material and pleaded guilty to one count of possession of child sexual abuse material.
Prior to his sentencing, prosecutors requested Fisher receive the maximum sentence of 10 years allowed under his plea agreement, according to court records. Defense attorneys, meanwhile, asked the court to impose a 108-month sentence, citing Fisher's traumatic childhood, mental health history, acceptance of responsibility, and participation in rehabilitation programs while in custody.
In addition to the prison sentence, prosecutors also requested 10 years of supervised release following Fisher's prison term, along with sex offender treatment, internet monitoring, and other conditions. The federal government also sought restitution for victims, with the amount to be determined as victims are identified.
Fisher was arrested in December 2024 and pleaded guilty in August of 2025, according to court records.
