VIRGINIA - Governor Glenn Youngkin has ordered flags across the Commonwealth to fly half-staff on the one-year anniversary of the deadly mass shooting at a Chesapeake, VA Walmart.
The fatal shooting occurred last year when a Walmart manager opened fire in a breakroom, killing six people before turning the gun on himself.
Younkgin said in a statement Tuesday that flags would be lowered tomorrow, Wednesday, November 22, 2023, from sunrise to sunset. All US and Commonwealth of Virginia flags on all state and local buildings and grounds are to be lowered “in memory and respect of the victims, their families, and the entire Chesapeake community,” Youngkin said.
