Delaware lawmakers are taking aim at cell phone use in schools after the House passed Senate Bill 106 on Tuesday, a move many community members and school leaders say is needed to address the growing problem of phones in classrooms.

Delaware's Special Reassessment Committee met Tuesday at Legislative Hall for its second session. The committee heard from Kent and Sussex County leaders about their reassessment processes and how communication, transparency, and public outreach guided their work.

On Aug. 26, the Delaware State Police and partnering agencies launched a statewide Blue Envelope Program, designed to support drivers with disabilities and improve communication with law enforcement during high-stress situations, such as traffic stops.

For the past two months, the Dover City Council has been working on ways to improve tracking and resolution of constituent complaints. Soon, they’ll be introducing a new dashboard program called Citizen Problem Reporter, designed to enhance communication between the council and residents.
