The Delaware Department of Natural Resources and Environmental Control has announced Delaware’s first case of Chronic Wasting Disease after a white-tailed deer killed in Sussex County tested positive for the disease.

Salisbury officials say a public meeting about the cleanup of the Lake Street Brownfield will be held on Thursday, April 23 from 5:30 p.m. to 7:30 p.m. at the Government Office Building.

As the City of Salisbury was awarded almost $1.8 million from the EPA to make the site safe, general landscaping has begun at the brownfield on Lake Street. The next quarterly meeting about the progress of the construction is set for Thursday evening.
