energy

Friday on DelmarvaLife, we learned some money-saving measures for your kitchen appliances, which can often use a lot of energy. Our friends from Delaware Electric Cooperative gave us quite a few tips, including:

  • When cooking, keep the oven door closed to avoid letting out hot air
  • Cover food with lids to help it cook faster
  • Use a microwave or slow cooker to prepare meals, instead of an oven, which can use a lot of energy
  • Wait until the dishwasher is full to run it

You can use Delaware Electric Cooperative’s appliance calculator to get an idea of how much money it costs to use the appliances in your home.
