Audrey Scott-Hynson’swork with entrepreneurs is her passion.  And it shows.  And it’s that passion that led to her being named the Small Business Administration’s 2016 Delaware Small Business Champion of the Year.

Scott-Hynson was honored for her for her achievement at an awards dinner held last month at the DuPont Country Club in Wilmington, Del.

Scott-Hynson serves as president and CEO of A. Scott Enterprises, LLC, a consulting business established in October of 2006. The company offers professional services to individuals and businesses desiring to participate in job creation through entrepreneurship.

In addition, Scott-Hynson is an adjunct professor at Delaware State University, program manager for the university’s Food Business Incubation Center, and director of the Center for Business Growth at the Delaware Financial Literacy Institute.

According to the DFLI, Scott-Hynson “has dedicated more than 14 years of service helping hundreds of youth and adults fulfill their passion to be able to start their ‘dream’ business. Her services have been successfully performed through Delaware State University’s Delaware Center for Enterprise Development, the City of Wilmington’s Economic Development Office, community centers, and churches.”

Additionally, Scott-Hynson provides youth mentoring through the Delaware Center for Enterprise Development’s Junior Entrepreneurs in Training program.

“The heart-felt standing ovation from her peers and mentees as she took the stage at the small business awards ceremony to accept her award said it all: Ms. Scott Hynson’s work matters, and she matters to this community,” says SBA Delaware District Director John Fleming. “SBA is proud to honor that work with this year’s Small Busienes Champion of the Year title.”
