According to the American Cancer Society, prostate cancer is the most common form of cancer in men after skin cancer. The Society reports 1 in 7 men will be diagnosed with the disease at some point in their lives. Prostate cancer is, however, very treatable. Urologist Mark T. Edney, MD, with Peninsula Regional Medical Center and Peninsula Urology Associates, P.A., was a guest on DelmarvaLife Thursday. He explained that prostate cancer early on, almost never presents any symptoms. That’s why it’s crucial to stay on top of your prostate health with regular screenings. As far as preventative measures, Dr. Edney says a heart-healthy diet and regular exercise are important.
