The front that pushed south to allow for a dry day yesterday has moved back to the north overnight as the wind has turned out of the south and eventually will turn out of the southwest. The humidity will be back building all day long and will push our temperatures up into the 80s and 90s for highs this afternoon. We will need to see how the atmosphere handles the first rays of sunshine and warmth this morning as there are some hints of a pop-up shower or storm possible early in the day. We will need to watch this afternoon for any thunderstorm development out to our west as those will propagate in our direction and bring us the chance of showers and storms late this afternoon and this evening. These storms may pack a punch with strong and gusty winds and lots of lightning. The threat I am most concerned about is the very heavy rain as there are some indications that we could be dealing with some folks picking up several inches of rain in a very short period of time.
We will be watching another front that will bring with it chances for some scattered showers and storms for Friday and Saturday. The debate we were watching between the models has come into focus and the front will linger and be our best friend. This means we will need to watch for the development of showers and storms again throughout the day on Saturday, but especially Saturday evening as the front clear leading into Sunday morning. This will help setting up for a good end to the weekend with cooler conditions into early next week.
We see a drop of humidity into early next week before the temperatures and humidity will start to climb with temperatures into the 90s again by the middle of next week. Along with the heat and humidity…the chance of showers and storms climb back up on Wednesday and Thursday. There are some hints from the models that it could get very toasty again for next weekend with a couple models already hinting that triple digit heat isn’t out of the question again.
