Normal high: 84°F. Normal low: 65°F.
High pressure has brought another nice day to Delmarva, although it has been a little more humid than in recent days.
A low pressure system will pass to our north Thursday into Friday. As it does so, a warm front will climb up the East Coast on Thursday, bringing our next chance for unsettled weather.
It seems that on Thursday, we will see showers and thunderstorms bubbling up, mainly in the afternoon and evening. The Midshore and Delaware are most likely to see shower and thunderstorm activity, with lower chances the farther south you travel.
The Midshore and Delaware are also where we have a severe weather threat on Thursday, mainly for damaging winds and hail. The highest severe weather threat, including tornadoes, is confined to areas north of Delmarva, but we'll wait and see if that threat sinks south.
Scattered showers and thunderstorms will continue into Friday, with the activity again reaching a peak in the afternoon and evening.
The front will start to depart on Saturday, although there could still be a few pop-up showers or thunderstorms in the afternoon.
Then high pressure builds in again, making for a pleasant Sunday.
Mostly sunny skies and temperatures on the seasonable to seasonably warm side will take us into the next work week.
Temperatures during this period will be on the rise, with highs reaching the low 90s by Tuesday.
In the long range, temperatures are expected to be above normal, and precipitation near normal for Sep 2 - Sep 8.
In the Tropics: A tropical wave southwest of the Cape Verde islands has a medium, 60 percent chance of development in the next two days. It is not a threat to the United States at this time, but needs to be watched over the next week or so.
The next name on the Atlantic hurricane naming list is "Dolly".
The Atlantic hurricane season ends on November 30.
