Showers and storms continue to roll across Delmarva in the early morning hours this morning. As we work through time, the latest batch of showers and storms should move on through to allow for some sunshine and temperatures to soar into the 80s and 90s this afternoon. With this sunshine could come the idea of a few more pop-up showers and storms later this afternoon and this evening. The severe weather threat for later today sits to our west, but it wouldn’t shock me if a storm or two if they get going could bring some strong and gusty winds with some heavy rain and lightning. Once the back edge of this system moves across Delmarva, things should taper off overnight into Tuesday and Wednesday.

Tuesday looks like a treat of a day with sunshine and temperatures into the 80s and 90s…your typical summer afternoon for mid August. There may even be a touch of relief to the humidity with the wind from the north and northeast on Tuesday…beaches could be in the 70s all day long. Wednesday will in the 80s and 90s again with a mix of sun and clouds as high pressure hold for a couple of days.

Watching a cold front to push through the region on Thursday with some scattered showers and storms by later in the day. The thing about this front (and has been the pattern for the last few weeks) is that this front will become our best friend and stall out overhead. The front will allow for an area of low pressure to develop on the front and drift through our neck of the woods and keep things unsettled with rain on and off throughout the day on Friday and looks to linger into the first part of Saturday (at the moment).

I am trying to be optimistic for the beach businesses and to dry us out for Saturday afternoon and Saturday evening before introducing another chance of some rain showers and storms for Sunday and this could even linger into early on Monday. A touch of fall enters the chat for early next week behind the front as things look to settle down a bit for Tuesday and Wednesday.
