ORANGE, Va. (AP)- Virginia State Police are investigating the death of an inmate at the Central Virginia Regional Jail.

State police say in a news release that foul play isn't suspected in the death of 37-year-old Jerry Wayne Bright Jr. of Orange.

Jail staff found Bright unresponsive in his cell just before 2 p.m. Saturday. He was pronounced dead by Emergency Medical Services.

State police say Bright had been in the jail awaiting trial since Dec. 13 following his arrest on robbery charge.

The body was taken to chief medical examiner's officer for an autopsy.
