OCEAN VIEW, DE - An Ocean View man has been sentenced to 48 months in prison for distributing methamphetamine in Delaware that he bought in Philadelphia.

According to the U.S. Attorney’s Office for the District of Delaware, Vincent Mitchell, 35, made monthly trips to Philadelphia to purchase a pound of meth which he would then sell in the Ocean View Area.

In July of 2022, Mitchell’s home was searched, revealing one pound of methamphetamine and $6,000 in cash. The Ocean View Police Department and the Drug Enforcement Administration conducted the investigation, according to the Attorney’s Office.

Mitchell was sentenced yesterday, September 19th, by Chief Judge of the U.S. Delaware District Court Colm F. Connolly.

“Methamphetamine remains among the deadliest drugs plaguing our streets today.  Peddling this poison endangers the safety of our community,” said David C. Weiss, U.S. Attorney for the District of Delaware.”I am grateful for the continuing efforts of our federal, state and local law enforcement partners to stem the tide of illegal drug sales.  My office will continue to seek significant prison sentences for those, like Mr. Mitchell, who profit from illegal drug trafficking.”
