Tree Farm

DELMAR — As the holiday season kicks in, families across Delmarva are heading out to find the perfect Christmas tree, and local tree farms are at the forefront of bringing that festive joy. For P&J Tree Farm in Delmar, family is not just a part of the experience; it's at the center of it.

For nearly four decades, Delmarva families have made it a tradition to visit P&J's Tree Farm to choose, cut down, and bring home their very own Christmas tree. This family-run farm spans three generations, with owner Jay Bozman expressing gratitude for witnessing his own family grow alongside their customers.

"We have at least 3 generations that come. This morning there was a guy who came here as a boy. Their fathers brought them, their grandfathers brought them. After 39 years, it’s fun seeing all these people come and their families come back," said Bozman.

The work doesn't stop with families cutting down their trees; the P&J Tree Farm family personally shakes and bales the trees. Jay's nephew, Adam Corry, who has been working on the farm since he was four years old, shares the says he's lucky to be a part of the holiday tradition.

"They're going home with their Christmas tree. That’s gonna be the centerpiece of their family's holiday season, where everyone's gonna gather on Christmas morning, kids are gonna open their presents. It’s important being a part of that," said Corry.

For families like Robbie Mapp and his daughters Everlyn and Emerson, finding a tree is a growing tradition. As his own family expands, Mapp hopes to continue the tradition for years to come.

"We can just do it for year after year, kind of like a tradition. We got another one coming in January and started last year," Mapp shared.

P&J Tree Farm advises families to act quickly, as trees often sell out within the first two weekends of opening. They also recommend taking good care of the tree by keeping it watered and away from dry areas with heavy sun.
