QUEEN ANNE’S COUNTY, MD - The Queen Anne’s County Sheriff’s Office has announced the arrest of an Annapolis man for allegedly making threats of mass violence against his former employer.

Police say a local business contacted them on May 1 to report the alleged serious threats from a former employee. The ensuing investigation, according to authorities, 23-year-old Joshua Broomfield of Annapolis as the suspect.

After multiple interviews with Broomfield and witnesses, as well as consultation with the Queen Anne’s County State’s Attorney, police say they determined criminal charges were warranted. On May 2, an arrest warrant was issued for Broomfield on charges of Threat of Mass Violence and Arson/Threat.

Police say Broomfield voluntarily turned himself in on May 6.
