KENT ISLAND, Md. – The Maryland Transportation Authority (MTA) announced the upcoming closure of the eastbound span of the Chesapeake Bay Bridge to accommodate the Bay Bridge Run on Nov. 12.
The eastbound span will be closed from around midnight until the event’s end at 2 p.m., with two-way traffic operations continuing on the westbound span.
MTA says the center lane may intermittently be opened to reduce westbound delays.
Those driving on the bridge during this time should expect delays, according to the press release.
The following additional closures and detours will be in effect during the event:
Off-ramp from US-50 eastbound to MD-8 closed: take the next exit at Thompson Creek Road to MD-835 westbound, then onto MD-8.
On-ramp from MD-8 westbound to US-50 closed: take MD-18 to Castle Marina Road, then onto US-50.
