SEAFORD, DE - The Delaware State Police arrested a man early Tuesday morning on various drug-related charges following a traffic stop.
Just after midnight on November 7th, police say they saw a car driving in Seaford without a working passenger side headlight. Police attempted to stop the vehicle, but say the driver did not stop. Eventually, according to police, the driver abandoned the vehicle and fled on foot.
Police say they were able to apprehend the suspect, identified as Frederick Daniels, 47, of Bridgeville. During the arrest, police say Daniels ignored trooper’s commands to put his hands behind his back. Once he was handcuffed, State Police say they found a knotted, clear plastic bag on the ground under Daniels, containing what they suspected to be cocaine.
Further investigation after the arrest revealed an undisclosed amount of cash, just over 15 grams of methamphetamine, over 32 grams of marijuana, .29 grams of cocaine, .112 grams of heroin, and two prescription pills, according to police.
Daniels was taken to Sussex Correctional Institution on $25,702 secured bond on the following charges:
-Possession of a Controlled Substance Tier 2 Quantity With Intent to Deliver (Felony)
-Possession of a Controlled Substance Tier 2 Quantity (Felony)
-Disregarding a Police Officer Signal (Felony)
-Tampering with Physical Evidence (Felony)
-Possession of Marijuana Other Than Personal Use Quantity
-Possession of a Controlled Substance Without a Prescription
-Resisting Arrest
-Possession of a Controlled Substance – 2 counts
-Traffic Charges
