DELAWARE - The Delaware Mortgage Relief Program is no longer accepting some applications to cover fees.

The program, administered by the Delaware State Housing Authority (DSHA), is no longer accepting new applications for financial assistance to cover delinquent homeowner association fees, homeowner’s insurance, and lot rent fees, according to DSHA.

Applications for monthly payment assistance will reportedly end on Jan. 31, at 4:30 p.m.

DSHA says applications can still be submitted to cover delinquent mortgage payments, property taxes, and eligible utilities such as water and sewer. To apply for the Delaware Mortgage Relief Program or learn more, you can visit demortgagehelp.com or call (888) 303- 4324.

Launched in June of 2022, the Delaware Mortgage Relief Program is funded through the American Rescue Plan Act and Homeowner Assistance Fund, which the U.S. Treasury Department distributed to the state of Delaware.

DSHA says funding is expected to be exhausted by the fall of 2024, if not sooner. DSHA is reportedly developing and identifying alternative programs for homeowners to take advantage of in the future.
