Project Limits for Kenton Road Improvements

Improvements are planned for Kenton Road between Forrest Avenue (SR-8) and Chestnut Grove Road.

DOVER, DE– The Delaware Department of Transportation (DelDOT) announced it will host a virtual public information session to inform neighbors of upcoming changes to Kenton Road.

The meeting will take place Jan. 24 at 4 p.m. via Zoom. Those planning to attend must register online.

Officials will discuss the construction timeline, traffic impacts and possible detours, proposed improvements and ways to stay updated.

Planned improvements include roadway widening for the addition of turn lanes, consistent roadway lighting and signaling, adequate drainage, sidewalks, bike lanes and a roundabout connecting Chestnut Grove Road.

Phase one is already underway as crews work to move utility lines from the intended construction area – a 1.25 mile stretch of Kenton Road between Chestnut Grove Road and Forrest Avenue (SR-8).
