Dover city leaders have finalized a list of priority transportation projects for the coming year, covering a range of initiatives from economic development to roadway safety and capacity. The list includes both projects carried over from previous years and newly proposed initiatives.

DelDOT reduced the speed limit from 45 mph to 35 mph on Route 24 (Millsboro Highway) from Delaware Avenue to Lewis Road and Mumford Road. 

The Delaware Department of Transportation has installed new weather monitoring cameras along Route 1 and in Oak Orchard in an effort to better track frequent flooding in the area.

State transportation officials are considering building two pedestrian bridges over Route 1 near Lewes and Rehoboth Beach. The bridges would allow bicyclists and pedestrians to safely cross over busy sections of the highway.

Milford drivers may soon notice a brighter path along one of the city’s busiest and darkest roadways. The Milford City Council unanimously approved an agreement with the Delaware Department of Transportation to add new lighting along U.S. 113 between Airport Road and Del. 1, a stretch many say has been dangerously dark for years.

The Delaware Department of Transportation says the speed camera on SR1 near the Minos Conaway Road Grade-Separated work zone near Lewes is now issuing tickets.

Two people were killed in a five-vehicle crash in Sussex County Friday afternoon, according to Delaware State Police.

DELDOT has announced that West Lebanon Road (SR 10) between US 13 and Lordship Lane will close starting on Monday, November 10 and remain closed through mid-December 2025.
