DEWEY BEACH, DE– A Dewey Beach Police K9 was recently gifted a life-saving ballistic vest thanks to the generosity of a local charity.

Cpl. Carl Kurten and K9 Smoke received custom-fitted, embroidered soft body armor in a presentation at Bottle and Cork Friday.

The bulletproof and stab-proof equipment was donated by the 302 Phalanx Foundation’s K9 vest initiative at no cost to the Dewey Police Department.
