Easton House Fire

EASTON, MD - Firefighters and EMS battled a fire Friday night that ultimately took the life of a family dog in Easton.

According to the St. Michaels Fire Department, they, the Easton Fire Department, and Talbot County EMS were dispatched to a dwelling fire on Hammond St. just after 9:30 p.m. on December 1st. 

The Maryland State Fire Marshal says it took the firefighters about an hour to control the fire in the one-story home. Though no human injuries were reported, one dog perished in the fire, the State Fire Marshal says. 

Total monetary loss to the home and its contents is estimated at $225,000. The Fire Marshal says the cause of the fire is under investigation.
