SALISBURY, Md.- Starting Monday September 25th, you can order up to four free COVID-19 tests from the federal government. Here on Delmarva and across the country, cases are rising though Dr. Chris Snyder from TidalHealth says this is not the time for healthy Americans to worry too much.
"Let's not panic about this, this is something that is causing much lower illness, our ER visits we're sending 99% of them home, again the only patients I see in the hospital are those who have really significant underlying diseases, on chemotherapy, are really bad diabetics they are super old or they are in convalescent centers," said Snyder. "This is something we are all going to be living with. So the COVID fear of a pandemic I think is behind us we have much better control especially with some of the preventative things we know about now."
Snyder says right now COVID-19 is like a common cold for most health people. This explains how COVID-19 cases are rising, yet deaths are not increasing.
Snyder recommends that everyone continue to practice good hygiene, and if you are not feeling well, stay away from those who are most vulnerable.
