ELLENDALE, DE - Delaware State Police have arrested a Greenwood man on charges of felony theft after he allegedly stole two light poles from an Ellendale property.

Police say they were called to a home on Rockin Way in Ellendale on October 18, just before 2 p.m., on reports of a theft. There, the homeowner told police two 40-foot light poles had been stolen from his property.

An investigation led to police identifying Richard Boyd, 55, of Greenwood as the suspect in the theft. 

On October 23, Georgetown Probation and Parole notified State Police Boyd was in their custody. He was turned over to State Troopers and charged with the following:

-Theft Greater than $1500 and Victim is Older than 62 Years of Age (Felony)

-Conspiracy 2nd Degree (Felony)

Boyd was arraigned and released on his own recognizance, according to police.
