LEWES, DE - The Historic Lewes Farmers Market has announced this Saturday’s market has been canceled in anticipation of poor weekend weather conditions.

WBOC Meteorologist John Conway predicts a soggy weekend beginning on Friday as a coastal storm makes its way towards Delmarva from the Carolinas. Wet and windy conditions are expected Friday night into Saturday.

The announcement is the latest cancellation news  on the peninsula as Delmarva braces for a potentially stormy weekend.

While September 23’s Farmers Market will not be open, it is set to return the following Saturday on September 30 for the season’s final Market at George HP Smith Park. The Historic Lewes Farmers Market Fall Market is then slated to begin Saturday, October 7 at the Lewes Elementary School parking lot.
