Dewey Beach Teen Arrested for Assault in Rehoboth Beach

REHOBOTH BEACH, Del.- Delaware State Police have arrested a 16-year-old boy accused of attacking a man in the parking lot of a Rehoboth Beach supermarket.

According to police, the incident happened Sunday evening in the parking lot of the Giant grocery store at 19312 Lighthouse Plaza.

A 54-year-old man told troopers he was leaving the store when he was approached by Isaiah Yunas, of Dewey Beach.

Yunas reportedly asked the victim if he remembered him, to which the victim replied that he did not know or recognize Yunas. 

Police said Yunas then proceeded to engage in a physical altercation and struck the victim several times, causing severe facial injuries.

The victim was transported to an area hospital where he was treated for non-life-threatening injuries.

Yunas was taken into custody at the scene and transported back to Troop 7 where he was charged with the following:

  • Second-degree assault (felony)
  • Disorderly conduct

Yunas was arraigned before the Justice of the Peace Court and released on his own recognizance.
