SALISBURY, Md. - IT WAS LIKE A SANTAS WORKSHOP on Wednesday IN SALISBURY, AS GIFTS WERE WRAPPED AND PACKED UP TO BE DELIVERED TO FAMILIES IN NEED.
WITH ONLY THREE MORE DAYS UNTIL Christmas, THE WBOCBLESS OUR CHILDREN CAMPAIGN IS QUICKLY COMING TO A CLOSE. DOZENS OF CHARITIES ON DELMARVA ARE USING BLESS OUR CHILDREN fUNDING TO HELP SPREAD HOLIDAY CHEER. A BUSY DAY FOR RYAN JACKSON AS HE LOADS HIS TRUCK UP WITH MANY GIFTS. JACKSON IS A COMMUNITY OUTREACH COORDINATOR FOR tHE UNITED WAY OF THE LOWER EASTERN SHORE. HE'S BUSY HELPING THOSE IN NEED HERE ON DELMARVA. "So we're in the thick of our secret santa program right now. This is where we have provided christmas gifts for children of 30 or so families and about a hundred or so children all together throughout those families," says Jackson. UNITED WAY PRESIDENT, PAM GREGORY, SAYS THEY STARTED DELIVERING GIFTS TO FAMILIES WEEKS AGO AND IT'S AN HONOR TO HELP. "The holidays are extra special to know that you're lessoning the burden of that family. When they share their appreciation, you see the happiness on their faces. It's very heartwarming and it helps to realize this is why we do what we do," says Gregory. LIKE MANY OTHER NONPROFIT orGANIZATIONS, HELPED BY THE BLESS OUR CHILDREN CAMPAIGN, THE UNITED WAY COMPLETED ALL OF IT'S DELIVERIES JUST IN TIME FOR Christmas.
