LEWES, Del. - Hopkins Farm posted on social media this morning that they were robbed last night, September 10th.
They say a man entered the Hopkins Farm Open Air Market around 10 p.m. and stole product worth hundreds, potentially thousands, of dollars. He concealed his identity with a mask, hat and glasses and carried a black backpack. He also had a single-wheel electric skateboard.
Hopkins Farm says he then returned multiple times and loaded up on things like meat, olive oil, seasonings, pies and more. The entire robbery was caught on security cameras, and the footage also appears to show him loading stolen products into a waiting car.
The social media post then called for the community's help in identifying the thief. However, WBOC learned today that the all of the stolen items were returned to the farm with an apology note. Delaware State Police say the suspect has been identified, though Hopkins Farm said it is not interested in pressing charges.
Despite the theft, the market was open today.
