Outdoor Ice Skating Rink Headed to Downtown Easton

EASTON, Md. - An outdoor ice skating rink is set to open temporarily in downtown Easton.

Discover Easton and Anne Arundel Medical Center (AAMC) are partnering to bring the synthetic rink to the inaugural Chesapeake Fire & Ice Festival between Feb. 14-16. The rink will be open starting at 4p.m. on Friday and will be open throughout the weekend. A $5 donation will cover skate rental and rink time. Proceeds will help fund future Signature Events organized by Discover Easton.

The inaugural Chesapeake Fire & Ice Festival will feature ice sculptures, live carvings, fire performers, a Family Fun Center, Stews ‘n Brews event, music and more. The three-day event was created to offer families and couples from around the region a fun winter weekend to enjoy Easton’s downtown and the Eastern Shore while perusing professionally-carved sculptures.

“We are so excited to bring a community partner like Anne Arundel Medical Center into this great inaugural event,” Discover Easton Executive Director Ross Benincasa said. “The Chesapeake Fire & Ice Festival is going to be a great winter event for couples and families to experience Easton this Valentine’s Day weekend, and a downtown ice rink only adds to the wonderful things to do all weekend long.” Dr. Juan Cordero, a Cardiologist at AAMC’s Easton Pavilion, added, “Anne Arundel Medical Center is passionate about supporting the health of our community, and ice skating at the Chesapeake Fire & Ice Festival is another way for people to be active as they enjoy this great event.”
