SHARPTOWN, Md. - The 93rd annual Sharptown Firemen's Carnival kicks off Thursday at 7 p.m.
The Sharptown Fire Department is set up and ready to go for its annual event. There will be rides, raffles and live entertainment during the weeks-long festival. In addition, the carnival is home to its famous oyster sandwiches.
Some who live in town said the carnival is a great excuse to bring people together.
"It's great family fun," Corey Wheatley of Sharptown said. "You can't go wrong with really anything much in here. The people are really good. It's a good town. And it's a good cause so please bring your families and have some fun."
The carnival runs every night from Aug. 1-24, except on Sundays. For more information on the carnival, check out the Sharptown Fire Department.
