Pocomoke City Council Officially Terminates Former City Manager

POCOMOKE CITY, Md. - The former city manager of Pocomoke City is not getting his job back.

The city council voted 3-1 to officially terminate Bobby Cowger from his position. He was let go from that post in April and it wasn't immediately clear why he was removed.

On Tuesday, Cowger went before the council in a meeting to plead for his job back. Cowger, along with his attorney and dozens of community members, listed his qualifications, accomplishments and goals for Pocomoke City. The council had delayed that vote until Thursday's meeting.

The council cites unsatisfactory job performance as the reason for Cowger's termination.

Cowger tells WBOC he plans to file a lawsuit against the city Friday.
