Milford food truck fire

MILFORD, Del. - A Milford family's food truck was destroyed early Father's Day morning, leaving them without a source of income as investigators work to determine what caused the devastating fire.

William and Melissa Martinez said the fire started just before 1 a.m. Sunday, June 22. According to the couple, security cameras captured the incident.

The Martinez family started their food truck business about two years ago and said they had worked hard to build it into a successful operation.

"We put a lot of hard work into our food truck and it looks like we were doing very well, and this really hurts,” said William Martinez. “It really does hurt."

Melissa Martinez said the loss will have a significant impact on their family's finances.

"We will not be able to operate our business, which means that we will not be able to provide an income for our family," she said.

The couple thanked the Milford Police Department and the Carlisle Fire Company for their response.

Officials have not said whether the fire was accidental or intentionally set. The Delaware State Fire Marshal's Office estimates the damage at approximately $50,000.

The family is accepting donations through Venmo @Guillermo-Martinez-Juarez  to help offset the loss of income while they recover. Despite the setback, the Martinezes say they are determined to rebuild and return to business stronger than ever.
