FENWICK ISLAND, DE- A lifeguard chair was recovered from the surf in Fenwick Island on Tuesday.

Police say the red chair was one of several lost this season from Ship Bottom, New Jersey. Officials in New Jersey could not confirm when the chair was lost but say it traveled more than 118 miles to Lewes Street beach in Fenwick by sea.

Fenwick police are recommending that visitors use caution when using the beaches due to rip currents and medical waste that washed ashore in mid-September.
