DAGSBORO, Del.- There's a new home for one big family-owned business in Sussex County.
On Friday, Morse Roofing and Siding cut the ribbon on their new Dagsboro headquarters, located right on Main Street.
Owner Tom Morse says the building will be one stop shopping for clients.
"It's from start to finish," explains Morse. "We bring them in, do the contracts here. They can go to our design studio, they can see samples of shingles they also see our guys and our production team."
During Friday's ceremony, Morse described the struggles that he and wife Tomie Kay encountered before and during the beginning of the business. Now, the company is booming.
"There is no greater threat to progress than hardship without commitment," Morse told the crowd. "Don't confuse movement with progress. Just because you are doing a lot more doesn't mean you are getting more done."
The Morses call Dagsboro home and say their goal is to serve the local community. In May, the company gifted a free roof to the widow of former Dagsboro Police Chief Floyd Toomey.
"This is so meaningful to us," Tomie Kay Morse tells WRDE. "We are so appreciative of our staff, our staff, our parents, family, all the people who made it possible for us to be here."
